The world’s longest-running American musical, the multi-award-winning CHICAGO, returns to the Mayflower Theatre.

Roxie Hart has always wanted to be a star but can’t quite seem to catch a break. Things seem poised to change when she is arrested for the murder of her lover. Roxie decided to become the media’s new darling and begins vying for the spotlight, and the attention of their lawyer Billy Flynn, with her idol, nightclub performer and accused double-murderess Velma Kelly.

Chicago has won 6 Tony Awards, 2 Olivier Awards and a Grammy as well as spawning a Best Picture Academy Award-winning film adaptation. Bob Fosse who, along with Fred Ebb, wrote the book originally choreographed and directed the show. Fosse’s unmistakable style is still evident in Ann Reinking’s new choreography.

Chicago features numerous toe-tapping, crowd-pleasing numbers including All That Jazz, Cell Block Tango, When You’re Good to Momma, and Razzle Dazzle. Come enjoy flash and pop of this 21-year-old show.

The Mayflower Theatre has recently received a £7.5 million makeover with a major refurbishment that has been carried out on the 90-year-old venue. The venue has been completely repainted and given a new red and gold colour scheme. All the seats in the stall and circle have been removed and replaced with 1,659 brand-new wider seats, while the seats in the balcony have been reupholstered.
