From the Blackmore Vale we take you directly The Royal Mint at Llantrisant, where you will be greeted by a Visitor Host who will take you through security checks.

Your experience will start in the Pre-Show area where you will gain an introduction to the Royal Mint.  Led by our Visitor Host you will enter one of the manufacturing areas to discover how blank pieces of metal are made before being struck to become coins.  From a viewing area, you will look into the striking hall where thousands of coins are produced, 24 hours a day.

You will then be able to strike your own coin and take it home with you as this is the only place in Britain where you can do this. The design of the coin alters, depending on what theme we are celebrating at the time of your visit. People who have visited The Royal Mint Experience before, for example, struck a rare, 2018-dated Sir Isaac Newton 50p coin or have a picture surrounded by a chest of coins (additional charges apply).  After the Factory Experience, you will be escorted to the self-guided Interactive Exhibition to explore six different zones at your own pace.

Once you have taken your fill of all that this experience offers you we will meet up again to take lunch at the Royal Mint which includes a choice of soups, salads, sandwich selections accompanied with a basket of chips or without, Ploughman’s lunch option or various Jacket potato options with a side salad. Tea and coffee are inclusive, however if you wish for anything other to drink or indulge in the cakes and scones and tea that they have to offer this will be at your own expense as this part isn’t part of the package we have gone for this year!
