Westonbirt – The National Arboretum – Arrive at one of the finest collections of trees and shrubs in the world. The 600-acre arboretum is home to 2,500 different species of trees, five national tree collections, and over 15,000 individual specimens from across the globe.

The arboretum is divided into two sections – the Old Arboretum, closest to the visitor centre, and Silk Wood, containing several national collections including oak and Japanese maple. Stroll the broad avenues and discover magnificent champion trees – the tallest or largest of their kind in the British Isles.

Don’t miss the STIHL Treetop Walkway, where you can discover the hidden world of the tree canopy from a breathtaking elevated perspective. The arboretum is particularly spectacular in autumn when the maples and acers ignite in a fiery blaze of gold, crimson, and copper. Find a peaceful spot in the grounds to enjoy your packed lunch, included as part of your day, surrounded by the arboretum’s glorious seasonal colours.

Afternoon Tea at The Snooty Fox, Tetbury – After a wonderful morning among the trees, travel the short distance into the charming Cotswold market town of Tetbury for a delightful afternoon tea at the legendary Snooty Fox Hotel.

Take a seat in the inn’s restaurant and tuck into a sumptuous spread prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients – assorted finger sandwiches of classic fillings, homemade scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream, homemade fancies, and a fine choice of speciality teas, infusions or coffee.
