From the Blackmore Vale, we take you directly to the Battle Proms Concert at Highclere Castle to get to the venue for about 4 PM. The concert concludes at about 10 PM.

Highclere Castle was the seat of the 5th Earl of Carnarvon who, in 1922, famously discovered the tomb of Tutankhamun with his colleague Howard Carter. More recently, the Castle has become the central character in the ITV period drama ‘Downton Abbey’ which has achieved extraordinary international fame. The Battle Proms Concerts are the longest running picnic proms series in the UK, attracting around 30,000 visitors per year since the first concert in 1997. Battle Proms takes place directly overlooking this impressive and iconic building.

The Battle Proms is a summer celebration with a full programme of captivating classical music from the 60-piece New English Concert Orchestra, complemented by toe-tapping vintage vocals and a breath-taking Spitfire aerial display by The Grace Spitfire, which is accredited with shooting down the first enemy aircraft over the Normandy beachhead on D-Day, 81 years ago. There’s a sensational freefall demonstration by The Red Devils parachute team, dramatic Napoleonic cavalry displays and ground-shaking live fire from over 200 cannons! These quintessentially British ‘party in the park’ concerts feature magnificent musical firework displays, culminating in a flag waving, sing-a-long spectacular including all the ‘last night of the proms’ finale favourites such as Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory!

You are also able to order chairs and tables to make the evening more comfortable, see the options available when ordering the trip (NOTE: When ordering multiple tickets ONLY add the Table and chairs if needed to one ticket, add that to you basket, then choose the other tickets with the NO TABLE and then add them to your basket and checkout).
