You will be staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Forest Pines Spa & Golf Resort in Brigg. Set on 190 acres of woodland, this hotel and golf resort is 3.7 miles from The Pink Pig Farm and 6.9 miles from Elsham Hall Gardens and Country Park.

Day 1: We depart the Blackmore Vale and head to our hotel in Brigg with a stop for lunch. We aim to get to our hotel for mid-afternoon where there will be tea and coffee on arrival.

Day 2: You spend the day in York, starting with an entertaining and informative York City Cruise. Your leisurely cruise glides up and downstream the very same river that brought the Romans and Vikings to York, with live commentary delivered by local skippers who will regale you with fascinating facts about the city’s incredible history. With an enclosed heated saloon and an upper deck, you can sit back and relax as you admire the scenery. After your cruise you have free time in York on foot maybe taking in the Jorvik Viking Centre, York Dungeon, York Castle Museum or York Minister.

Day 3: Today you visit magnificent Lincoln Castle and its unique, fascinating restored Victorian Prison, used as a filming location for TV series such as Downton Abbey and Call The Midwife. In the afternoon you have a guided canal cruise to enjoy taking in the sights of Lincoln and the surrounding countryside with entertaining commentary.

Day 4: After breakfast we say our farewells and start the return journey home. A stop for lunch and then a leisurely journey back to Blackmore Vale arriving late afternoon/early evening.
