Spend Christmas in Lynton North Devon at the breathtaking Valley of the Rocks Hotel. The Grade II listed building sits on a clifftop location in Lynton from which you can descend the hill down to Lynmouth and its beaches in the Cliff Railway funicular train, built in 1890. One of the most well placed hotels in Lynton, it’s a lovely, traditional way to arrive at the seafront at the start of a day exploring this spectacularly beautiful corner of England.

Day 1: We depart the Blackmore Vale and head to our hotel in Lynton with a stop for lunch. We aim to get to our hotel for mid-afternoon where there will be tea/coffee and mince pies on arrival. After freshening up we will then have a 3 course dinner

Day 2: We start the day with a Full English Breakfast followed by some leisure time during the morning. What a better way to spend Christmas eve afternoon than watching North Devon’s biggest and most lavish pantomime, the classic ‘Sleeping Beauty’, at the Queen’s theatre, Barnstable. After returning to the Hotel, we will come together for a 3 course dinner with Festive Entertainment. The Hotel will have details for anyone wishing to go to midnight mass this evening.

Day 3: Following Breakfast, we start the Christmas Day festivities followed by a traditional Christmas Lunch with all the trimmings. There is also a rumour that Father Christmas will be making a visit! Following this, we can all enjoy the festivities and gather around the Christmas tree for the Queen’s speech (if you so desire). There will also be a light dinner in the Evening.

Day 4: Today it is boxing day and it’s time to wear off the Christmas dinner, so we will take you out for a lovely drive and if you so wish you can enjoy some fresh Devon air with a brisk walk. We will return for some relaxation followed by a 3 course dinner with Festive Entertainment.

Day 5 : After a Full English breakfast, we say our farewells and start the return journey home. We have a stop for lunch and then a leisurely journey back to the Blackmore Vale area arriving late afternoon/early evening.
