You will be staying at the Celtic Royal Hotel, a venue steeped in history which gets its Royal name from Princess Victoria when she visited the original main building five years before she became Queen Victoria. The Hotel’s stables and coach houses – considered some of the finest in the country form a completely enclosed courtyard. The world-famous UNESCO Heritage site of Caernarfon Castle is just a short distance away. The hotel features an air-conditioned gym. 16-metre indoor, heated swimming pool, sauna, bubble pool and steam room.

Day 1: We depart the Blackmore Vale area and head to our hotel with a comfort and lunch stop en route. On arrival, you have time to get settled into the hotel and get refreshed before you can enjoy your 3-course dinner plus tea/coffee.

Day 2: On our first day, after breakfast, we head for Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens – Isle of Anglesey, a historic garden under restoration, situated between Menai Bridge and Beaumaris on the Isle of Anglesey. In 1996, the present owner bought the 200-acre Plas Cadnant Estate, and work began on restoring the historic garden and grounds. Since then, large parts of the gardens have been restored to their former glory. Described as one of North Wales’s best-kept secrets.

Day 3: After breakfast, Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways, Caernarvon. In the afternoon, we will visit Portmeirion, a slice of Italy in North Wales. Portmeirion was created by Welsh architect Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1976 to show how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. Soak up the Mediterranean atmosphere in the village. Walk in 70 acres of wild woodland and stumble upon hidden gems such as the Dog Cemetery and the Chinese Lake.

Day 4: Today, we head for a ride on the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which has been operating since 1896, to experience the awe-inspiring journey by rack railway to the summit of Snowdon, the highest mountain in Wales and England. The railway has been described as one of the most wonderful railway journeys in the world, with stunning scenery and awe-inspiring views.

We will later have some free time in Llanberis to wander through the village before moving on to the Llanberis Lake Railway, a narrow gauge heritage railway that runs 2.5 miles along the northern shore of Llyn Padarn.

Day 5: Today, we depart our hotel and return to the Blackmore Vale area with a comfort and lunch stop.
