Join us on a 5 day trip to the Isle of Wight. We will be staying at the Trouville Hotel in Sandown which is quite literally on the golden beach with panoramic views of Sandown Bay. Located on the south east coast of the Island, most of the hotel’s en suite bedrooms have an uninterrupted sea view over stunning Sandown Bay. There is live entertainment most evenings, with two large dance floors overlooking the water. The hotel also has four short mat bowls lanes.

Day 1:  We depart the Blackmore Vale and head to Lymington to catch the ferry across to the Isle of Wight.  We aim to arrive mid-afternoon so plenty of time to settle in before dinner.

Day 2:   After breakfast to Osborne House which Queen Victoria and Prince Albert bought in 1845.  They created a private home away from court life.  Victoria used Osborne House for over 50 years entertaining foreign royalty and visiting ministers, finding solace there after Albert’s death in 1861.  Today many of the rooms are filled with original furniture and art, while the planting in the grounds is to Albert’s designs.  After Queen Victoria’s death, Prince Edward gave the house to the nation on his coronation day in 1902.

Day 3:  After breakfast we head to Rosemary Vineyard which is one of the largest producers of English wine covering 30 acres. Whatever you tipple there’s something for everyone from full bodied English red wines, ciders to refreshing apple juice.  After lunch we head to the Donkey Sanctuary where you can meet the residents all 97 donkeys and 26 ponies!

Day 4:  After breakfast we travel to Ryde where you can spend the day exploring the largest town on the Isle of Wight.  In addition to an expanse of sandy beaches which stretch right along the town, Ryde has a great selection of boutique shops, museums and galleries to explore

Day 5:  After breakfast we depart our hotel and begin our journey home.
